Annecy

Annecy is supposedly France's most beautiful town - although I'm sure it has a lot of competition for this title it was very pretty on a sunny February day. Annecy is most famous for its lake - you really can't miss it, it's huge! A walk around the lake was followed by a meander through the old town with its narrow cobbled streets and water ways. The walk up to the old chateau is steep but well worth it for the amazing views and for soaking up some history. The new side of town is less picturesque but features all the French stores you would expect so was great for a spot of shopping before hopping on le bus back to the chalet weighed down with bottles of Bioderma!
Walking by the lake. It was so sunny that people were picnic-ing, in February!

Sunny selfie. Feeling good about impulse buying those Ray Bans.
Walking into town.
Goat's cheese on toast with a side of Kindle for lunch.
The Chateau. I've never watched Game of Thrones but this made me feel like I was in it.
The view of the lake from the chateau.
Who wants a regular sized pain au chocolat when you can have a supersized one?
Back to the lake to walk off lunch - little romantic spot.
Famous Annecy icon.
No French town trip is complete without a trip to La Cure Gourmandaise.

Have you visited Annecy?
