Tas Farringdon

Turkish food is one of my favourites so on a rainy Sunday evening Tas sounded like the ideal choice for a relaxed early birthday meal for Mummy Lipstick.

The City is super quiet at weekends so on a Sunday night we had the restaurant to ourselves for the first hour of our meal. Perhaps everyone else was at home waiting for Sherlock to come on or just didn't want to brave the rain... In the week there is live Turkish music but it was nice to have some peace and quiet and have a good catch up with my parents.

We started by sharing some hot mezze - falafel and goat's cheese deliciousness:


 Mummy Lipstick had cous cous stuffed aubergine (eggplant  - not sure why some people call it this, it's not like an egg at all):

 I had another veggie dish - mushrooms with red and green peppers, topped with Turkish cheese. Definitely getting my five-a-day here:

 Daddy Lipstick had grilled lamb which was sadly not very photogenic.

To finish we had coffee and shared the baklava dessert which nicely came in three pieces - they are so intensely sweet that one is definitely enough!
A perfect early birthday treat and a great pre-Sherlock feast.
