Shopping trips and freebies

I haven't done an awful lot of shopping lately...working, socialising and I guess just life have left me with little time for browsing the shops. A few days ago, I planned to spend my day off having a "summer shop" but was shocked to find that the shops are already full of autumn clothes! Despite this, I still managed to pick up a few goodies:

Clockwise from left -

1. Nivea Happy Time Body Lotion

I won this in Glamour Magazine's May giveaway although didn't receive it until last week! I love the smell of this lotion - it has an orange blossom fragrance which is sweet but not overpowering. The lotion itself is light and quickly absorbed, it doesn't make my skin feel greasy which is great as I hate heavy feeling products. I'd recommend this for normal skin - it probably isn't rich enough for dry skin but for an everyday lotion, it's great.

2. Winter floral lace dress

I picked this up from the Primark sale rail (I can't resist a bargain, even in Primark) where it was reduced from £15 to £5! I love this style of dress as I love high waisted skirts and dresses. The sheer lace sleeves will be great for autumn while the floral pattern is still pretty and summery - a great transitional piece.

3. Open toe suede ankle boots

Despite my already far too large shoe collection, I couldn't resist these in the Topshop sale...they were reduced from £35 to £15 and with my soon-to-expire student discount were £13.50! These are so soft and comfortable and, again, will be great for autumn. I used to wear heels every single day but lately I'm almost sad to admit that I'm a convert to flat shoes...they're really much more comfortable and it's nice to walk along and not worry about the pavement cracks that my heels always get stuck in! Flats also look more effortless for day and mean that I can wear my shorter skirts and shorts without looking overdone.

4. Primark lace tights

I never wear trousers so once the weather cools down, tights are my best friend. Despite banning myself from wearing tights until October (starting to look more doubtful by the day that I'll actually stick to this), I couldn't resist this lacey pair for only £3.

5. Simple Spotless Skin Facewipes

I got a freebie pack of Simple facewipes in the post after applying for them on the Simple website. What do I think? I'm not a huge fan of wipes as they always leave my skin feeling not-quite-clean. These promise to reduce spots and remove waterproof mascara. I found these very gentle on my skin but they still removed all my eye and face make-up. As with all Simple products, they're unperfumed which is great for sensitive skin and while No 7 wipes are still my favourite, these are pretty good for a quick way to remove make-up and are a bargain too - £1.99 from Superdrug.
